Dog Sled Ride

Jun 16, 2011 06:16:30 AM soumitrapanda Posts: 7	Hi, Can anybody kindly guide us here? We are interested in Dog Sled Ride but do not wish to go to Glacier 3000. Is there anywhere else that Dog Sled Ride is available? We will be located in Bern for 2 days and then in Luzern for next 2 days. Glacier 3000 is becoming a little hectic for a day trip from either of the places. Thank you in advance, Soumitra -- Visiting Switzerland in Jul'11 for the first time

If one has to give up the dog sled ride, then would you recommend glacier 3000 or Pilatus or anything else as a day trip? We would be interested in some snow activities apart from the natural beauty. We are anyways going to Jungfrau, that is confirmed. So now we have to choose another one. 2. At all these places like Jungfrau, Glacier 3000 etc, how does one manage the weather. Jun 18, 2011 12:28:06 PM modannika Moderator Posts: 2117	Hi Soumitra. Glacier3000 is quite long day trip from Bern or Lucerne, so I would prefer Pilatus or Rigi. Both have great views, although they don't offer typical snow activities. But then again, the Jungfraujoch does and you'll be getting up there anyway. There's (mostly) snow on top of the Titlis as well. As for clothing: if you don't plan on genuine hiking up at the Jungfraujoch (there's a hiking route to the Mönchsjochhütte for example), solid shoes, warm sweaters and rain proof jackets may suffice it it's not too cold. Otherwise you should buy some extra accessories such as scarves and gloves or see if you can rent them at one of the Intersport stores in Interlaken or nearby towns (although they're mainly involved in winter sports gear). edited by modannika on Jun 18, 2011 -- Annika Moderator MySwissAlps.com We're on Facebook now! facebook.com/myswissalps
