    Hi Arno

Im Meera travelling with my sister and 2 nieces from Nice to Basel by air. From Basel to Interlaken we decided to travel by train maybe the golden pass route. We have 2days only. The next morning depending on the weather we want to do the jungfrau excursion and get back to Interlaken max by 4pm so that we can catch the train from Interlaken to Paris if there exists direct or via Basel. This is on the 9th of June arrival and departure 10th. We’ve booked accomadation in interlaken.

Kindly help us out with the best rail pass option.

    Thanks and best regards

Hi Damkumari and welcome to MySwissAlps!

I think your best option is the the Swiss Half Fare Card, which once bought, gets your 50% your train trips.
However, if the weather is poor and you don’t go to Jungfraujoch you may be better off buying point to point tickets only – especially if you just stay in the Interlaken area and don’t make a different train trip.

You can travel a portion of the Golden Pass route (Luzern to Interlaken) if you travel Basel – Luzern – Interlaken, but the faster route is a direct train from Basel to Interlaken (via Bern). You can search train schedules here.

You can catch trains to Paris from Interlaken but there will be a change in Basel.

    Lucas
