Hi Riyaa,
We have a nice list of recommended accommodation options for both towns (with different budgets in mind as well). Have a look here at hotels in Luzern and hotels in Interlaken.

Hi Riyaa,
Thanks for those details. CHF 450 is CHF 112.5 per night, which is quite low for a double room in Switzerland. But if you are willing to have a shared bathroom and stay in hostels it is possible, even in a popular town like Lucerne. The problem in this case is that you’ll be there in two weeks time and it is high season, so most if not all of the cheaper accommodation is booked out. Booking well in advance would have worked. Right now, I can find these options for you:
- Hotel Rothaus is the cheapest I could find in Lucerne (CHF 866). It is 10 minutes on foot from the station and close to the old town.
- Hotel Stanserhof in Stans (CHF 659). It’s very close to the Stans train station and from there it’s 20 minutes by train to Lucerne.
- Seehof du Lac in Weggis (CHF 676). Very nice situated on Lake Lucerne, but farther from Lucerne (by bus or boat).
- Homestay Color Dream Rooms in Gersau (CHF 520). Again on the lake but farther from Lucerne. The bus and boat stops are very close though.
I hope one of these works for you. I recommend booking quickly.
Be sure to buy your Swiss Travel Pass online and print it at home (see here). That way you don’t need to spend time on it in Basel and you can board your next train straight away.
