Hi, I will have a travel day coming from Chamonix after an 11 day hike around Mont Blanc and am looking for something non strenuous for a day en route to my campsite in Lauterbrunnen. I was considering the Ballenberg Museum but it is further away than I think I want to go; some options I think may be a boat tour on either Thun or Brienz, possibly to the cave (I know it has been said by Slowpoke all caves are the same but truly they are not if you know what to look for!) Which area do you recommend? I will be hiking the Niederhorn ridge later in the week, so will be coming this way again.

    Hi Debra,

Always a tough call choosing between those two lakes. I might look at Lake Thun. There is of course the St. Beatus caves there, as well as a few castles in the area to see and Thun itself which is very nice.
