We have a similar situation to the posting of a couple days ago. We will be traveling in Europe for several weeks before we come to Switzerland. As a result, we will not be at our home to receive the passes if they are sent out 3 weeks before we need to use them. I am reluctant to buy our passes and have them delivered to a hotel that is on our itinerary as suggested in the earlier posting. I think there is too great a risk that the passes will not be delivered to us by a hotel or something else will go wrong since we will be moving around so much. I recall that in the reply to the earlier posting it was said that we could buy the 50% passes at some railways stations when we arrive in Switzerland. Which stations and is there any difference in the price between what we would pay at the station and what we would pay if we ordered over the internet? Thank you so much for your help.

    Hi Nancy,

The Swiss Half Fare Card can indeed be purchased at larger (manned) Swiss rail stations as well. Where would you like to buy it?

Currently, the price (CHF 99) is the same, whether purchased online or locally. For most countries (the US as well), shipping costs will be added to the pass price when ordered online.

Thank you, Amo. We will be entering Switzerland at Basel from France. Could we purchase the Half Fare Card at the rail station in Basel? Thanks again for your help.

Yes, you can purchase it at the Basel SBB rail station. Enjoy your stay!
