So we are planning on doing a Swiss Alps tour on the Bernina Express from Milan on 2nd April. The tour we are looking at is a coach ride from Milan to Tirano, then the Bernina Express from Tirano to St. Moritz, 1.5 hrs to spend in St. Moritz, and then coach back to Milan from St. Moritz.

But this just seems like a lot of coach ride, and only a little scenic train ride. Also, only a little bit time to spend in St. Moritz, and it also seems like there isn’t much to do there, and that there are better towns on the Bernina Express before/beyond St. Moritz to check out.

This is going to be a day trip, so any suggestions/recommendations is greatly appreciated.

    Hi dubhai420,

The advantage of a guided tour is that it allows you to do this in one (long) day. But you will indeed only see some of the highlights. The tour includes half of the Bernina line, which actually continues to Chur. Just 1.5 hours in St. Moritz is not enough to visit any of the nearby viewing points. There’s plenty to see, but not in that little time. You can easily do this on your own, but ideally you should stay the night somewhere. That allows you to see much more. This has recently been discussed in the forum here and here. I hope these threads help you out!
