I shouldn’t worry too much about getting any particular ‘famous’ viewpoint for sunsets. In the Alps on a nice evening the sunset can be lovely in a large number of places at the same time, and also different types of sunset view can be good. For example my favourite thing is to see the pink colour on high mountain peaks. This usually actually happens just after sunset and can sometimes be better spectacle than the sunset itself
By the way better Google is to use a specialist sun times website. For example timeanddate.com has calendar grids that shows sunrise, sunset times but also other useful data such as the times of each type of twilight (astronomical, civil etc)

Hi Don8135,
I agree with 1960man. There really is no one best place to watch the sunsets in the Alps as long as you get a clear view and good weather. Some destinations like Harder Kulm near Interlaken Ost do offer sunset dinner packages and it might be worth checking it out:

Hi Don
Since your staying in Grindelwald and have access to a car, I would think Grosse Scheidegg would be a good choice logistically. There is a road from Grindelwald to GS that is a fairly short ride and in my opinion a very nice view. There is also a restaurant there as well but it may only be open for lunch but it has outdoor seating and a good view if it happens to be open.
