We completed our first trip to Switzerland this summer (as part of an interrail trip) and absolutely fell in love with it. We had 9 days there and spent time around Lake Geneva and then in the Jungfrau region. As we were so enthralled by the beauty of the Jungfrau region we have decided to return to Switzerland next summer to explore further. We plan to spend some time in the Jungfrau region again with Wengen as our base, then go down to Ticino for a few nights. We would like to finish up with somewhere in the East of the country (possibly the Graubunden area) but need some advice on where. We love the peace of the mountains, beautiful scenery, walking, having places to eat and drink out – Wengen was our favourite place in the Jungfrau to give you an idea. Can people recommend some places for me to start exploring? Thank you.

Any of the smaller towns and villages in Graubunden in general, or the Engadine.

Berguen (on the Chur – St Moritz line) is a good base

    Hi Needtotravel,

Glad you enjoyed your trip and are planning to come back next year.

I agree with the above comment. Any village or town along the Chur – St Moritz train line is a good base for exploring parts of the Graubünden region. In addition to Bergün you can look up Filisur or nearer to St Moritz, towns such as Pontresina or Samedan: https://www.myswissalps.com/upperengadine.

You can find accommodation options in the region here: http://www.myswissalps.com/graubunden/hotels

Hope this gets you started on your new itinerary.

    Regards,

    Anna
