    Hi,

If we can only do one – which is the recommended one for the 3rd week of September? Not for hiking. Just for the scenic train ride. No worries about getting to both these places – so just need to know which ride has a better “wow” factor.

    Thanks in advance.

Hi traveljet. Schynige Platte gets you closer to the famous Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. The view up from the Brienzer Rothorn is wider, with a view down at Lake Brienz and the Alps smaller in the background. Both train rides are stunning in my opinion, with spectacular scenic views along the way. You could check weather forecasts shortly before leaving. If it’s rather sunny but not very clear, the view from Brienzer Rothorn may be a bit foggy and getting closer to the mountains may be better.
