    Hello,

I’ve planned to travel from La Spezia(Italy) to Luzern during October and I will be holding a flexi swiss pass.

After searching through http://www.sbb.ch, I’ve found that there is direct train from Milan to Auth-Goldau – Train no. Eurocity 16

I’m planning to book the tickets from http://www.trenitalia.com as they have to option to book the tickets from La Spezia to Milan with economy price. Can I simply book the train from Milan to Chiasso under the same train number (Eurocity 16)? And if I book the train ticket at Italy, do I have to alight the train at Chiasso to validate the swiss pass or continue to sit inside the train?

Hi yippyaya. If the train number and the departure time in the Italian timetable match those from the Swiss timetable, you’ll book the same train indeed. In most cases, the train personnel in the train can validate your Swiss Flexi Pass before reaching the border. Do ask them in time.
