Hello Fozzie, the nearest towns are Grindelwald or Lauterbrunnen, from there you can take a train/cog railway to Wengen. Wengen is car free, from Wengen you can take the cog railway to Kleine Scheidegg. At Kleine Scheidegg you will have a beautiful view at Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. If you want you can get higher by taking a train to Jungfraujoch – there you will be at the highest point reachable by train in Europe.

Thanks Olga! From where do you catch the train that goes up inside the mountains and you can look through the walls of the Eiger??

The train you mean is the one to Jungfraujoch, leaving from Kleine Scheidegg. I wish you a beautiful trip!

Fozzie – to elaborate on Olga´s directions: You can catch the Jungraubahn at Interlaken Ost and catch the train to Grindelwald at the second stop (Zweilütschinen) and change at Grindelwald to get to Kleine Scheiddeg. OR – you can stay on the train at Zweilütschinen and go thru Lauterbrunnen and Wengen all the way to KS: Either ist eine schöne Reise. (Better yet, use this for a round trip out of Interlaken Ost). Genießen!

Fozzie – check http://www.jungfrau.ch/en/sommer/tourism/travel-information/arrival/maps/ for a map of die Jungfraubahn. There exists a larger version somewhere on the web, but I couldn´t find it immedialtely.
