    Hello,

Planning a trip to Switzerland in Aug 2017 and wondering if we make Interlaken as our base or split 6-7 days between Interlaken and Lucerne.

Is Mt Pilatus and Mt. Titlis doable as a day trip (2 separate days) from Interlaken ? How long will be it be one-way to get to each of them ?

    Thank you !

Hi Fustastik and welcome to MySwissAlps!

Both Mt. Pilatus and Titlis are about 3 to 3.5 hours each way by train from Interlaken. So it would be simpler to stay in Luzern for a couple nights as well as Interlaken – but it is doable in one long day if you like.

To plan specific trips it is best to use the Swiss railway timetable here. You can enter your town and end train stop and it will show you when trains depart and the length of the trip and prices of course.

If you are interested in a Swiss rail pass check out some options here. The Swiss Travel Pass may be a good bet for you if you are planning frequent train trips during your stay – it also covers public transit in most towns.

Let me know if you have further questions.

    Lucas
