Is the following Day to Much!

    Lugano to Bellinzona 0811 train

    Bellinzona to Splugen 0845 Bus

    Splugen to Chiavenna 1020 Bus

Chiavenna to St Moritz 1306 Bus

St Moritz to Alp Grum 1512 Train

Alp Grum to Pontresina 1614 Train

We are going up to Alp Grum just to experience that stretch.

We were meant to come up from Tirano but the Lugano bus is booked up.

There are breaks in there at Splugen 28 mins

    Chiavenna 51 mins

    St Moritz 30 mins

    Alp Grum 14 mins

    Is it too much!!

    Hi Chris,

According to this schedule it’s all doable. Whether it’s too much depends on your personal ideas about what a travel day should look like. If you’re fine with the arrival and departure times, there’s nothing wrong with this journey. You can shorten it by leaving out the last Bernina Express stretch St. Moritz-Alp Grüm and back to Pontresina. Instead you can explore St. Moritz (as suggested by Alpenrose in your previous post)/Pontresina and their surroundings (e.g. the Morteratsch glacier) for a somewhat slower travel pace and more free time in the afternoon. Maybe you have time to do a longer Bernina Express leg another day? I don’t know what the rest of your itinerary looks like.
