Do I need to carry Francs or Euros to Switzerland?

    Dear All

    Do I need to carry Swiss Francs to swiss or i can carry Euros? If Euros do i need to change into swiss francs?

    Kindly Advise.

    The official currency of Switzerland is the Swiss Franc, so that is what you need to carry.

    Some shops and restaurants will accept payment in Euros, but you will receive your change in Swiss Francs. They will apply their own conversion rate to your Euros, which would be less favourable than changing your Euros for Swiss Francs at a bank. So it would cost you more. And of course, they are not obliged to accept Euros.
