    Hi,

This is our first trip to Switzerland. We fly in to Zurich. We plan to do a trip Lucern – Interlaken – Zermatt a three day trip as per http://www.myswitzerland.com/en/home/destinations/holiday-destinations-in-switzerland.html#

Since this was the first time to switzerland we were trying to find information and came across this forum.
We need some help in planning as to how much time is needed in each of these places and where to plan the overnight stays.
Also we are not renting cars so all the travel will be on trains/ public transport. Which train pass would be suitable?

    Thank you.
    Sunil

    Hi Sunil,

Well, there is a lot to see and do from all three towns, but I would say that you need at least 2 full days (3 nights) in Lucerne, and also in Interlaken, and at least 1 full day (2 nights) in Zermatt. There are excellent hotels at walking distance from the rail stations:

A 3-day Swiss Saver Flexi Pass would be an ideal fit. You would have 3 free travel days for the town to town transfers, and discounts on day trips you’ll do on the days in between. All details and purchase options can be found here.
