Hi Yaha88us and welcome to MySwissAlps!
Please note, the Swiss Travel Pass is chf376 for 8 days and the Swiss Travel Pass FLEX is chf420.
The GA card is an annual travel card for Swiss residents only (and the monthly fee is chf320 but must be bought for one year).
I wouldn’t do a day trip to Geneva from Zurich personally, quite a trip. Unless there is something specific you need to see? Perhaps a day trip to Montreux on the Golden Pass panoramic train would be a better option?

Thank you Lucas for your quick reply.
In Geneva, probably visit United Nations Building ? Yes, a number of people has ‘discouraged’ us to make the 1 day trip from Zurich to Geneva. But we thought, since we are there, just take the train and ride over to Geneva (hopefully there’s some scenic scenery along the way). We could be wrong.
The Golden Pass sounds good, but do we take that from Zurich or Lucern.
While in Zurich, we will do Bern (1 day), another day to Rhine Falls & Stein am Rhein. We will take a 1 day tour to Heidiland and Liechtenstein. The balance of 1 day in Zurich, we thought we go to Geneva 🙂
While in Lucern, we will do Jungfraujoch. Another day to Lugano and then back to Zurich to catch our flight to Vienna.
Would be happy if you can suggest what we can do for the day while in Zurich or with the Swiss Travel Pass, where else can we go from Zurich, besides Geneva ?
Thank you so much

You would typically start the Golden Pass route in Luzern, you can also start in Interlaken or Zweisimmen. The link in my first post has all the details.
You can basically go anywhere you like in Switzerland on the Swiss Travel Pass. Some mountain attractions are only discounted partially but all towns and some mountains are accessible on the pass at no extra charge – Have a look on our “Where to Go” page and “What to Do” pages for your options!
