    Hello:

We are arriving into Geneva by air in Aug and going straight to Interlaken. We have a 1st class pass. I have the following questions.

    1. Is it worth the extra time to go to Montreaux and then to Interlaken on the Golden Pass line?

    2. What happens if we make a reservation on a panoramic coach and then miss the train?

    3. What is the best way to get to Montreaux from Geneva airport (bus, boat, train)?

    Thanks.

Hi training55! Yes, the ride Montreux-Interlaken over the Golden Pass route is definitely worth the extra time: it’s a stunning route with great scenery. You do have to make seat reservations though. They’re made for one specific train only, so they’re not valid anymore if you miss out on that train. Therefore, it’s wise to take enough time for your trip from Geneva Airport to Montreux and make reservations for a train you should be able to take. You could even consider spending the night in Montreux and take the first Golden Pass train next morning, but I’m not sure if this fits in your travel schedule.

If you miss your train, you should get to the railway station of Geneva (Airport) or Montreux and see if there are options available for the next train.

Traveling from Geneva Airport to Montreux can best be done by train. Just enter your departure and arrival stations in the timetable to check the best connections.
