We have a Global Eurail Pass. We want to take the Golden Pass trip from Lucerne to Montreux and we also want to take the William Tell trip from Lucerne to Lugano. Is our pass all we need to do we need seat reservations? We see conflicting answers on various web sites.

    Hi Miamitom,

Your Eurail Global Pass is sufficient. You don’t need seat reservations. Reservations are optional for these trips. You can find the details on our Golden Pass and Wilhelm Tell Express pages.

We are in Italy now so if we were making reservations, what would be you recommendation for making them?

The easiest option is to book the seats for both trains through http://www.raileurope-world.com#tab3. Note that delivery does take up to 8 business days. For the Wilhelm Tell Express, be sure to enter “Lucerne-Boat Wmtell, Switzerland” as your point of departure. Please also see the pages Arno linked to.
