we plan to take the golden pass route from Montreux to Interlaken via Zweizimmen. Do we need to make a reservation? We are travelling on 22nd August and have swiss passes. Thank you.

    Hi
They are not required but available. If you have a 1st cl pass and want to ride in the VIP seats in the front of the train you will need a seat reservation

Thank you Dick. We have 2nd class passes, but would like to up grade to 1st. for this trip and ride in vip seats. Can we upgrade in Switzerland as it’s too late to do it before we leave, and how much would it cost to do this? Thanks, regards Irene

Hi Irene. You can arrange for this in Switzerland too, but there are only a few VIP seats in each train. So it’s wise to take care of it as soon as possible, either online in advance or once you arrive in Switzerland. You’ll find the appropriate links at the seat reservation page. Have a great stay in Switzerland!
