We’re planning to take the Golden Pass from Montreux to Interlaken, spend a couple nights in Interlaken, then continue on to Lucerne. Do we need to purchase separate tickets, or do we just get one ticket and use then same one when we get back on the train in Interlaken a few days later?

    Hi SouthernGirl, welcome to MySwissAlps!

Standard tickets are valid for a day, so in your case you need separate tickets. Before buying tickets though, be sure to look at all of your travel plans (transfers, day trips, museums possibly) and check if a rail pass will save you money. With a rail pass, you pay half the regular price for tickets, or nothing at all (e.g. with the Swiss Travel Pass, which also includes museums). With multiple days in Interlaken it is unlikely that buying standard tickets for trains, cableways and boats is your cheapest option.
