Hello Moderators,

i am having difficulty making reservations for the Gotthard Panorama Express on July 10 from Luzern to Lugano. We are traveling with a Swiss Travel Pass. When I try through Rail Europe or Happy Rail, the date is not available.

You can not buy ticket before 30 days of travel. Can only book seat.

Thank you for your quick reply Welter. I’m sorry I’m confused. What is the difference between a reservation and booking a seat, and which website do I go to for booking a seat on the Gotthard Panorama Express in July? Thank you.

If you have a swiss pass you only must make the seat reserve (FCH 54), using the SBB ticket shop. In the form write: origin trip: luzerne bahnhofquai. Destination: Bellinzona or Lugano. I’m sorry, but my english is bad. I hope you understand me.

Thank you Lucas. I called Rail Europe USA and was able to reserve seats on theGotthard Panorama Express for July 7th. It cost $40 per person with Swiss Travel Pass. They are mailing the paper tickets.

It seems to me that Gotthard only works on weekends. And 10/07 is a Monday. To make the seat reservation by SBB you need to register (login), enter search, type day, departure point (Luzer Bahnhofquai). Place of destination (Bellinzona or Lugano), and time (11: 12h)
