Hello, we will be in Zwitzerland for 4 days in two weeks time. We will be arriving in Basel airport from london, hire a car and drive to Grindelwald. Some of our itinerary will be visiting the top of europe ( by train from grindelwald) and go to First via cable car and hike to bachalpsee lake.

    1. My question is, can we get a 50% discount to the Top of europe train from grindelwald if we have a Swiss Half fare discount card or only 25%?

    2. And how about that Jungfrau Travel Pass, ( say for 3 days) is this better to purchase rather than the Swiss half fare? Is jungfrau travel pass includes the train fare all the way to Jungfraujoch?

    Many thanks in advance.

    regards

    mike

Hi Mike, thanks for joining us!

    1. You will get 50% off, please see myswissalps.com/ swisshalffarecard/ validity.

    2. Whether this is better (cheaper) can be calculated as explained here. You will get 50% off the Eigergletscher to Jungfraujoch leg, and the rest of the trip is free: myswissalps.com/ jungfrautravelpass/ validity.

If you pick the Swiss Half Fare Card, be sure to get it online to save a bit of money and time (you can print it at home): myswissalps.com/ swisshalffarecard/ price. The easiest option from the UK is to visit http://www.swisstravelsystem. co.uk. After filling out your address, they will show the delivery options. Pick “Online Ticket” from the bottom of the list. They will e-mail the card within 1 to 3 business days (no delivery fees).
