    Hi,

I’ll be staying at Geneva for 2 days (14 & 15 June), would like to go to visit one of alpine in Switzerland on the 15 June, which is 1 day trip travelling from and back to Geneva on the same day.

Which place will be the best for me in terms of travelling time (by train) and money? What is the best cost effective plan for a group of 4 persons?

    Many thanks for your help.

    Regards,
    Samantha

Hello Samantha! You could manage to make a day trip to any of the famous highlights such as the Gornergrat near Zermatt or Kleine Scheidegg/the Jungfraujoch in the Bernese Oberland. Both trips require 4 to 5 hours of traveling for a single journey though, and that may be too much for one day. You can also consider Rochers de Naye above lake Geneva, which takes about 2 hours from Geneva, combined with a boat trip over the lake if you like. The timetable allows you to plan such trips. I suggest you visit Geneva Tourism for more tips. As for costs: depending on your exact plan, you should either buy regular tickets or use a Swiss Half Fare Card. Here‘s how to calculate which option is best.
