Hi Chong and welcome to MySwissAlps!

I can’t tell you how the weather will be and how much or little snow will be there but the cable cars are scheduled to be running by then, Männlichen starts up just a few days earlier.

Thank you Kim. Looks like I have to change my plans. Any suggestions for easy and panoramic hike around the same region?

Good picks at that time are the walk from Lauterbrunnen to Stechelberg (taking in the Trümmelbach Falls as well) and the walk from Grütschalp to Mürren. Both very scenic, lower elevation, flat and easy (about 3 – 4 miles)

Jumping on to this thread — Will the Faulhornweg from Schynige Platte to First be open around May 28-30? And how difficult is the trail?

    Thank you!

No, it typically doesn’t open until at least June 15. I’ve seen it still be closed until early July.

How difficult? Depends on your experience with alpine hiking with lots of elevation gain. The hike ascends about 3200 feet/980 meters over a span of about 10 miles/16 km. The signposted time is 6 hours 10 mins for experienced hikers, not including any breaks.

So, if you are not accustomed to strenuous hikes at high altitude this is definitely not the hike for you! If you are, it is gorgeous but should only be done on a relatively clear day.
