Hello Nivas. In my opinion, the Lake Lucerne and the Bernese Oberland would be quite romantic regions for a honeymoon. Beautiful boat trips can be made on lake Lucerne, lake Thun and lake Brienz. There are numerous viewing points to be reached by cable car or cog train. Examples are Rigi, Pilatus, Schilthorn and Jungfraujoch, all offering breathtaking views (if weather is clear, of course). Relatively easy hikes can be made as well. However, personal preference is very important in composing your itinerary. So please take a look around (several holiday regions are described at this website) and try to find out which region appeals to you most.

As for rail passes: it’s very hard to give advice as long as you haven’t made up your travel plans yet. Which pass is best depends on several questions: will you be staying within one region only, do you want to travel across Switzerland, are long and expensive train journeys involved, is it important to you to be able to travel for free each day? And so on. It would be best to get an idea of your travel plans first, and then read about the Swiss rail passes to find out which suits your plans best. Calculation tips can be found in our rail FAQ.

Just to give an idea: if you’d be travelling quite a lot each day, and if free travelling is important to you, the 8 day Swiss Saver Pass may be your best choice. The current free 1st class upgrade for Swiss (Saver) Passes may be interesting for you. But again, whether this is an economical solution depends on the trips you plan to make.
