How to get reimbursed for hotel VAT taxes?

    I was wondering how I will be able to get reimbursed for the hotel VAT taxes for my trip?

    What exactly do you mean? Will you be on a business trip?

    Hi Arno,

    No, it is a vacation. I’ve heard that the VAT taxes over $300 can be reimbursed but wasn’t sure how to go about it and if it was only on shopping or if it includes hotel VAT taxes paid as well.

    Hi Harleygirl,

    Ok, I see. I have not heard of that before. Can you link to a source with more information? All I know is that you can make tax free purchases for goods of at least CHF 300, at least in some cases: http://www.ezv.admin.ch/zolli nfo_privat/04342/04353 /04358/index.html?lang=en. I’ve never tried that myself.
