Hi, we are travelling through Switzerland in May 2023. I gather that I require to buy a special Schwerverkehrsabgabe, in effect a heavy vehicle charge. Is it possible to get this on-line from a site that is in English before we travel|? And is it a document that can be purchased on line and printed off here in the UK?

We will be in Switzerland for 7 days.

ps dare I have a chuckle at the statement Motorhome over 3.5kg…?

I think most motorhomes weigh somewhat more than 3 bags of sugar!

Thank you for your reply. I have emailed your suggested site and asked for advice . Dare to laugh!! We need a lot of laughter after the experiences of the last few years. Kind regards, Michael

    Hi Michael!

In addition: you can find official documentation concerning the Swiss heavy vehicle charge under “Information on other website” at http://www.myswissalps.com/car/caravancamper. A contact e-mail address for the Swiss Federal Office for Customs and Border Security is mentioned there as well. It could be useful in case you have any questions left.

Good luck with your holiday preparations, and let us know if we can be of further assistance!
