    Hi there

We are a family of 5, two adults, two teenagers and a child aged 19, 15 and 8. We are coming from Dubai and planning to be in Bernese Oberland region for four days from August 3rd – 7th with our base in Wengen. We were thinking of doing a mountain top trip, a lake tour, some hiking, chocolate factory tour, and possibly paragliding or hang gliding during our stay. We are thinking of going up to jungfrouch on August 3rd. How should we make reservations for this trip in advance as I understand the tickets can run out out on good weather days?

Also,if it’s mostly cloudy on these days, what kind of alternative activities would be suitable for us? We have a Swiss travel pass, so travelling to other regions should be alright, however, my little one can get rather impatient on long rail trips… Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for posting aa149!

Tickets to the Jungfraujoch do sometimes sell out on good weather days. That’s usually during weekends in July and August. The weather forecast for your trip next Monday predicts a warm sunny day. But you’d better check the forecast again on Sunday. If it still looks fine then you can walk to the rail station in Wengen and buy your tickets for the next day. You’ll get a 25% discount with your pass.

There are plenty of alternative activities: (simple) hikes, boat trips, other peaks to visit. Please have a look at myswissalps.com/ berneseoberland/activi ties for suggestions.

Thank you so much. Will check the weather on Sunday before buying the tickets.
