I will be flying from Singapore to Zurich on March 2017 and begin my 14 days 12 nights trip in Europe. My current plans is as follows:

    • 16 March – Zurich to Lucerne
    • 17 March – Lucerne to Montreux
    • 18 – 19 March – Montreux to Zermatt
    • 20-21 March – Zermatt to Lugano
    • 21 March – Lugano to Zurich
    • 22-23 Mach – Zurich to Munich
    • 24 March – Munich to Salzburg
    • 25-26 March – Salzburg to Hallstatt
    • 27 Marc – Hallstatt to Zurich
    • 28 March – Zurich
    • 29 March – Zurich airport back home

Would appreciate if some experts able to advise me whether my itinerary Is ok? Or the route that I plan need to be revised? Based on above itinerary what type of pass will recommend? Swiss Pass or Half Fare Pass?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi selina84, welcome to MySwissAlps!

As for the part in Switzerland: personally I would rather stay longer in less towns. There is really not much you can see if you stay for one night only. With two nights you at least have one full day, but no room to be flexible if the weather doesn’t allow mountain trips, which I assume you are interested in. Just staying in Lucerne, Montreux and Zermatt would be fine for me.

As for the rail pass: you’d best first have a fixed itinerary, including day trips. I do think either a Swiss Travel Pass or Swiss Half Fare Card will suit your plans, but you need an itinerary to compare them price wise.

The above links provide lots of additional information. Just let us know if you need more help!

    Hi Selina-

    Lots of travel…not much sightseeing

    Just my opinion.
