    Hi,

we will be landing at Zurich Airport on the 24th Dec at around 645pm. And we plan to go straight to Lucerne from there. Any suggestion what should be the best transportation for us. This is our 1st visit to Switzerland.

Hi Fandi, just take a train — the easiest way to get to Lucerne. There are every 30min trains, one directly from the Airport, and one for which you have to change in Zürich mainstation. Here the timetables — Have fun in Lucerne 🙂

Hi Elise, welcome to MySwissAlps! I agree, the train is the best way to get there.

Fandi, you may want to look into the other travel plans during your stay and consider a rail pass to save on ticket costs. Full details can be found here.

Thanks Elise and Arno for the info.

Actually my plan is to go for 8- day Swiss Pass. Just to confirm, the pass can be purchased at the airport, right.

    Hi Fandi,

The pass is called Swiss Travel Pass. The Swiss Pass is something different, see here. You can buy the Swiss Travel Pass at staffed rail stations such as the airport, or online. Buying online makes sense as it’s cheaper and it may save time too. Please see myswissalps.com/swisst ravelpass/price for all purchase options. Buying at the station is best for last minute travelers who can’t wait for their online order to be processed, but that does not apply to you.

    Have a good trip!
