Hi, our family of 4 is planning a trip by car in June and will be passing through the bernese oberland for about 4 days or so. We would only like to get the best possible price on the Jungfrau (plus return), in addition the Schilthorn Cable Car and possibly one of the boat trips. Which pass would you recommend? I’m not sure if the Swiss Half Fare, or the saver card would be better. Or would it be best to just buy the train pass only? Thanks in advance. 🙂

Hi macdood1! A Swiss Half Fare Card is a good option. It will save you about CHF 20.00 per adult when getting up to the Jungfraujoch and the Schilthorn, and even more if you add a boat trip or other trips by public transport. Children under 16 travel along for free if you order a free STS Family Card along with your Swiss Half Fare Card, so this is a good deal compared to buying regular tickets. A Swiss Saver Pass would be too expsensive if these are the only public transport trips you plan to make.

    Does this help you decide?
