    Hi Lucas

This is a suggestion for you! We liked your idea about Stein am Rhein (though of course it took us longer from over here in B.O. So here is one for you! We travelled by trains to Zug, then took bus 11 to Schoenegg-Zugerberg where a funicular (free with GA) took us up to the top of Zugerberg. Pick up a pamphlet which has numerous suggestions for hikes. We recommend very highly the restaurant at the funicular bergstation. We had a roesti with vegetables, cheese and bacon and it was one the best meals we have had in Switzerland – absolutely delicious!

So – easy to get to, lots to do and great food – not to mention lovely views across Zugersee.

    Hi Maggie!

That sounds like a great day trip, Thanks for the tip! I’ll try to get out there one of these weekends. Looks like just over an hour from home – not too far at all!
