We will be arriving in Lucerne from Salzburg, touring down through Switzerland and eventually returning to Zurich for our flight home. We would like to have our larger bags stored somewhere in Zurich while we are touring for the week in Switzerland. I understand that there is a service that will send them ahead of us each day, but we would still have to get them to the train station early and collect them each night. We would just prefer to travel light for our week in Switzerland. What do you advise

Hello Marilyn! The Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) offers several baggage services, but they don’t seem to be what you’re looking for.

Lockers in several sizes are available at the railway stations of Zurich and Zurich Airport. You can store your luggage there and pay a fixed amount per locker and per day, but I’m not sure if you can hold it there for as long as a week.

There’s a baggage counter as well at both stations, meant for handing in your luggage and have it sent to your destination. But they may be able to hold your luggage here during some days or even a week. A special luggage storage option, which would be great for you, may be available as well.

To be sure of all options, please contact the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB).
