I don’t know exactly what you mean with “coach”? – If you mean the coach section in the train, than you order the first class wagons: Then you sit more comfortable as in the second class. You shoul order the tickets before!

We are staying in Montreaux for the weekend and understand the Golden pass is a good way of seeing the wonderful scenery, but we don’t want to go by road we want to be on the train, is this possible, maybe have time for lunch somewhere nice. Can you tell us about buying the tickets as some off our party like to face forward when travelling.

thank you for your help, any suggestions would be much appriceated

    Hi Jon and Christine,

The Golden Pass line is a train route. There are no buses. Please find all about the route and tickets here: myswissalps.com/ goldenpass.

    Have fun!

    Jon and Christine:

if you chosse the train nr. 3126, leaving in Montreux at 13:44 h, there is a restaurant car. If you want to break the tour, make a stop in Gstaad. This is a very world known place where stayed famos people for example like Liz Taylor and Richard Burton and other prominent actors and people. Have there a lunch in the restaurant Olden and eat there a Fondue Chinoise. It’s a dream come true! You need then two tickets (reservation) for the train.
