Bernina Express bus full – other options to Lugano

    Hi,

    We are a group of 6 and have booked the first leg of the Bernina Express from Chur to Tirano. However, when we tried booking the bus from Tirano to Lugano, there was only 1 seat left, and have been advised that on that day, 18 May, only one coach will be in service. We’ve already booked and paid for accommodation in Lugano to stay a night there and it looks like we have to forfeit the payment. We would like to know whether if Bernina Express will add another coach on that day if the first coach’s seats are filled up? Otherwise, we were thinking of taking the return trip on the Bernina Express but unsure which place to find accommodation for the night before we head for Lucerne. Please advise.

    Hi Kumyong,

    You can still travel to Lugano via train, it is about the same time but perhaps not as scenic.

    You can search the Swiss railways timetable here and it will show you your options (about 3.5 hours with a change in Monza).
