    Hi,

We planned our holiday between Swiss and Italy

We arrive to Zurich, can spent 1-2 days there
    Interlaken 1-2 days
    Lucerne 1-2 days
    Lugano 1-2 days
    Lake Como 1-2 days

We want to visit Mt Pilatus, Mount Rigi, Jungfraujoch

What is the best way to see these mountains? From which city?
Can we stay in Wilderwill to visit Jungfraujoch or do we have to stay in Interlaken?

    Irina.

Hello Irina, and welcome! Lucerne and Interlaken, or a nearby town such as Wilderswil, would be good bases for visiting Pilatus, Rigi and Jungfraujoch. Wilderswil is actually along the route to the Jungfraujoch and it’s a great town for your stay. You can use the timetable to figure out traveling times from each resort.

Did you consider a rail pass for your journey? As some long/expensive transfers are involved, you may want to look into the Swiss Saver Flexi Pass. You could also be eligible for the 2 for 1 offer or these summer sales.

    Dear Annika,

    Thank you for your reply.

We ( myself and my husband) decided not to stay in Lugano and Lake Como.

We arrive to Zurich by airplain on 8th of June, take a tour to Mt Pilatus from Zurich, take train from Zurich to Interlaken on10th of June, do some traveling (or stay for a few days) to Wilderswill, Lauterbrunnen.
Take train from Interlaken to Lucerne on 14 of June, see Mt Rigi from Lucerne

On the conlusion of our stay in Swiss on 16 of June we want to take train from Lucerne to Venice (one way)
What train shall we take (William Tell express?). We probably have to change train on the boarder with Italy? What train do we have to change it to on the boarder?
How long does it take to get from Lucerne to Venice?
Do we need to buy a rail pass or buy individual tickets between all these places?

    Kind regards,
    Irina.

    Hi Irina,

A 4-day Swiss Saver Flexi Pass would be an option. You could use the free travel days for the Pilatus trip, Zurich – Interlaken, Interlaken – Lucerne and Lucerne – Swiss border. Another option is 8 days of free traveling (e.g. June 9 to 16) with an 8-day Swiss Saver Pass. If you follow the links and select your pass type and country on those pages, you’ll see the resellers with all their details such as prices and shipping options. The 2-for-1 offer does not apply as you’re traveling on June, but you could look into the Summer Sales that Annika mentioned.

Please check the timetable Annika referred to for details of your trips, such as where to change. The William Tell Express is an excursion with boat and train which is indeed an option if it fits your schedule.
