Hi Anand, and welcome to MySwissAlps,
There are lots of options. The best plan depends on your personal interests. You can best visit the Lake Lucerne section of the website. It provides information about the region and suggestion on what to do. Since you are staying several days, you can also include a longer day trip via the Golden Pass line to the Jungfrau region if you want.
You will need a rail pass of some sort. Most of them allow your children to travel along for free. You can find rail passes here. The planning section of our website explains how to plan a trip to Switzerland.
Please note that you posted to the ‘Switzerland trip reports’ forum, which is for reports about completed trips only. So I moved it to the ‘Switzerland miscellaneous’ forum. However, feel free to post your trip report once you’ve returned from the Swiss Alps. Other travelers will enjoy reading it, and you may win a hotel gift card.

Many thanks for the response. My tentative plan is as under:
Reach Lucerne on 18th May evening – Stay in Lucerne
19th – Lucerne local sight seeing – Stay in Lucerne
20th – Mt. Titlis – Stay in Lucerne
21st – Visit to Zurich and Winterthur – – Stay in Lucerne
22nd – Mt. Pilatus – – Stay in Lucerne
23rd – Visit to swissminiatur-melide – Stay in Lucerne
24th – To Zurich Airport, back to home.
Does this look okay? As I am traveling with Kids, I am looking at both Alps and other attractions, with almost nil hiking.
regards
Anand

Hi Anand,
Your itinerary looks fine to me, and realistic. The only thing you could consider changing is visiting Zurich only on the 21st. There’s plenty to see and do for a full day (or more). Keep an eye on the weather when you’re there, and visit the mountains on the best days. Your kids will probably love the Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne.
Suggested hotels in Lucerne are listed here.
Kind regards,
Arno
