    Hi jagdishmn,

I noticed in your other post you were also considering the Swiss Travel Pass. In that case you only need a ticket Paris – Basel instead of Paris – Lucerne, because the rest of the trip is covered by the pass.

RailEurope India is a legitimate company and website (or else we wouldn’t list them on MySwissAlps.com). As for the trip itself: it’s the same trip regardless of where you buy your tickets. RailEurope does not operate trains, they just sell tickets, like many others do. You’ll find various retailers here: myswissalps.com/ traintickets/france/ price. The advantage of RailEurope India is that they charge in your local currency.

    Enjoy the rides!

    Hi jagdishmn,

You don’t need to select a pass as you only need a ticket to the border. So you can get a regular ticket Paris to Basel, without selecting a pass, from http://www.raileurope.co.in/ train/tgv-lyria. And you can buy the Swiss Travel Pass through the page http://www.raileurope.co.in/ pass/swiss-travel-pass-82, which will cover the leg from Basel to Lucerne.

The Paris to Basel ticket includes a seat reservation. You don’t need to book seats within Switzerland.

    Enjoy the ride!

As you say I don’t find seat reservation from Basel to Lucerne with swiss travel pass except in class- I which shows Rs 750/ . Is it the cost of reservation with a swiss first class travel pass ?

Is travel from Basel to Lucerne with travel pass ( class -II ) limited to EURICITIES TRAINS and not INTERCITY TRAINS starting from Basel. ? Kindly clarify

when I book tkts for 03 adult lon -Paris it say’s

    FARE DETAILS

1 From LONDON ST-PANCRAS To PARIS NORD

Eurostar Regional 9018 – Reservation included

    3 x Standard Class Leisure 7 Adult

Does that mean the fare is only if we book for 07 adult ?

    Hi jagdishmn,

You don’t need seat reservations for Basel to Lucerne. You just need your Swiss Travel Pass, and it’s valid on all trains.

I’m not sure what 7 means here, but it looks like a fare class or something. You don’t need to book for 7 adults if you’re with 3 only.
