I will be using a Austria-Swiss Eurail pass.

When traveling from Salzburg to Zurich on Sep 15, 2015 around 3 PM, will I need to purchase a seat reservation?

    Hi Murty,

Thanks for your first post on MySwissAlps! If you plan to travel on a train that requires seat reservations, then you need to buy one. Seat reservations are not included in the pass (not in any pass). You can check this in the timetable.

I recommend the 3:56 PM direct Railjet train. It arrives in Zurich at 9:20 PM. Seats can be booked for this train, but it’s not required.

If you have not purchased your pass yet, you can find retailers and promotions here.

    Enjoy your trip!
