I notice you can purchase a reduced price Regional Pass Bernese Oberland if you have a 1/2 fare card or Swiss pass. If I purchase a 4 day BO pass, does the Swiss pass coverage need to include (overlap) all 4 days, just 1 day, or perhaps even no days? In other words if I have a Swiss pass that covers Sept 1 to 8 would my reduced rate 4 day BO pass need to be entirely within Sept 1 to 8, or could it be 8 to11… Or even 9 to 12?

    Hi xzperu42,

Thanks for joining us! You will indeed get a discount of about 25% on the pass if you also own a Swiss Half Fare Card or Swiss Travel Pass. There is no discount for Swiss Pass holders. That’s another product, and only for Swiss residents. The passes need to fully overlap in order to qualify for the discount. So in most cases buying one pass is sufficient and two is too much. If you plan a lot of traveling there might be an exception. If you have detailed travel plans you can do the math to figure that out.
