Hi, I am enjoying reading the forums and learning a lot.

One thing I would like to confirm is, I am about to order a pass but before I receive it, can I make reservations and pay the booking fee on trains such as Glacier Express and longer trips before I actually have the pass?

We will be travelling in August and I can see it will be busy. Thanks for any help.

    Hi shezz,

Good to hear the site is useful to you! You can make reservations before, after or while booking the pass. It does not matter, as long as you posses both when you board the train. Booking seats while ordering the pass makes sense: one order, one payment: one shipping fee (if any). In your case (Australia), you can do so through http://www.raileurope.com.au and http://www.raileurope-world.c om. All the options are listed here (assuming you plan to buy the Swiss Travel Pass).

You don’t need reservations for regular longer train rides within Switzerland. You do need them for the Glacier Express. Please see here for details.
