We are flying to Zurich on Monday and staying in Lucerne until Wednesday. We are on a low budget and would welcome some advice regarding whether to buy a Tell pass or not. We need to get a train to Lucerne when we arrive and on the Tuesday we would like to take a trip up Mount Rigi which would like to experience a boat trip, cogwheel rail and a cable car. Any advice would be very welcome.

Thank you

Hi Paulaliz and welcome to MySwissAlps!

Check here for prices on the The Winter Tell Pass . You will need to check the fares of the routes you are planning to see if it will save you money or not. Go to the SBB timetable here and enter the train routes you plan to do to see costs.

For more information on Mt. Rigi and how to get there visit our information page here.

Regards,
Lucas
