    Hi everyone,

we are travelling with 2 small kids 3 & 6 and a baby of 2 months. we plan to travel by car & stay Davos, zermatt & lauterbrunnen. we have some concerns about altitude sickness. I assume the resorts are fine at around 1500-1600m, however we would like to do a day trips up to Gornergrat & Jungfraujoch. Has anyone had any difficulties at such altitudes with small kids. I assume as it is for a few hours it should be okay and if we have any difficulties we can go back down.

More particularly is if we should be staying below 1500 and if we do encounter an issue on the mountains and take the train back down, is that quick enough. Naturally we will be seeing our doctor however if anyone has any feedback or past experiences, it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi alzoo,

There shouldn’t be a problem with the 3 and 6 year old, but be careful with the baby. Children that young can’t express how they feel, so it’s hard to know how they’re doing. Please see myswissalps.com/ jungfraujoch under ‘Preparation’, and indeed ask your doctor.
