    Hello from the new member.
We (2 adults and a child of 13) plan a trip for 15 days (Lac Leman, Wallis and Berner Oberland) with a Swiss Saver Pass and a free STS family card. The question is: Is the STS family card valid for cable cars, such as Eggishorn, Klein Matterhorn, First, Maennlichen and for cog railways, such as Rocher de Naye, Schynige Platte?
In the other words: are they all free for a child with a card? And the adults seem to pay half price.
    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi Valbrig,

Welcome here! The map linked from the Swiss Pass page shows you where the pass is valid. The Swiss Family Card is valid there as well, meaning that your child can travel along for free if the parents have a reduced ticket (or free traveling) through the pass.

    Hi
Thanks for the answer, that means the child travels ALWAYS for free if the adults have a swiss pass (and pay sometimes 50 %).

    Now of Lago Maggiore.
We’d like to make one day round trip from Sion/Sierre to Domodossola-Locarno (Centovali)-Boat trip to Isola Bella-Stresa-Domodossola or the other way round. So the questions are:

    1. Is it cheaper to buy LagoMaggioreExpress Tickets for us (2 Adults + 1 Child of 13)
or we could use Swiss Pass for Centovali Rail and Boat trips till the swiss border?

    2. We can arrive Domodossola at about 9 a.m. Is it still possible to visit both Stresa and Isola Bella?

    3. Is LagoMaggioreExpress Line a special offer or it’s just one of through lines?

Hi Valbrig! Yes, children with an STS Family Card always travel for free, even if the parents have to buy a reduced ticket.

As for your questions 1 and 3 on the Lago Maggiore Express: I’d say that the part of this trip covered by the Swiss Pass (please refer to the map Arno mentioned above) should be for free or reduced, as it seems to be the regular train line Domodossola-Locarno, but the Lago Maggiore Express website doesn’t mention this. So you can best contact them and ask about prices for holders of a Swiss Pass.

The Italian timetable will help you out in finding traveling times from Domodossola to Stresa and Isola Bella.
