    Hello Jungfraujoch explorers,

There are Supersaver tickets to Jungfraujoch for sale currently. This is the first time ever that I found such low fares even for non-pass holders.

For example: Interlaken Ost to Jungfraujoch and return, on September 15, departure 8:05, costs CHF 82.40. The normal price is CHF 210.80. Swiss Half Fare Card holders get a few francs extra off.

You’ll find these low fares here:

    Please note:

    • So far I only found the low fares for the route via Grindelwald Terminal. So that’s partly by train and partly by cable car (the new Eiger Express). So you don’t get to choose the route, which is the case with regular tickets.
    • Prices can vary by date, time, departure station and availability. These tickets can sell out and get more expensive as the travel date gets closer.

    Hi Arno,

We are planning a trip on October 6th to travel up to Jungfrau. I saw they have super deal for CHF82, from interlaken to Jungfrau. Do you know what that deal included? Do you know we could park our van at interken?

    Hi Daniel,

Yes, those are the Supersaver tickets as Arno explained in the above post. Just so you’re aware, supersaver tickets have fixed route and if you miss your connection you will get no refund and you will have to a buy a new ticket. How big is your van? There are P+Rail facilities at both the Interlaken West and Interlaken Ost train stations. The easiest way to book hourly and full-day parking is via the P+Rail app. You can download the app from the Apple Store or Google Play.

Let us know if you need more info.

    Regards,

    Thanks so much Anna.

We would have rented a Ford 7 people van, I believe that should be a regular size, and hope that should work.

Besides, this is the first time we use happy rail, and since they offer get price to get up the Jungfrau. I just want to make sure are they are trustworthy company? Moreover, you mention we need to make sure we could get on all the ride, is it difficult to catch the train as we just like to travel up from interlaken to Jungfrau, are we supposed to be ON the same train?

    Greatly appreicate your help.

    Hi Daniel,

You should be able to locate a parking space for a 7-seater easily. I was thinking you might be renting an RV or similar for which there are parking restrictions.

Happy Rail is a legit company. MySwissAlps has been working with them since 2016. You can find more info about Happy Rail here: http://www.myswissalps.com/aboutus/partners/happyrail

The trip to Jungfraujoch involves taking the train, in your case, from Interlaken to Grindelwald Terminal, where you’ll switch to the Eiger Express cable cars. This will take you to Eigergletscher where you’ll be taking the Jungfraubahn mountain railway up to Jungfraujoch. The route is explained in detail here: http://www.myswissalps.com/jungfraujoch/gettingthere

If you are travelling with the Supersaver tickets, you have to take your exact connections. For useful tips about travelling by train: http://www.myswissalps.com/train/practical

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Anna

Thanks Anna. That is really helpful

Since we need to take both cable car and train to Jungfrag. Can i assume the one way ticket mentioned by Happy Rail, include all the segment of the transportation?

    Hi Daniel,

If the ticket is for travel between Interlaken and Jungfraujoch, then yes it will include all segments of transportation.

    Hi Arno, Anna,

Many thanks for sharing this wonderful piece of news with us, much appreciated! I was able to purchase first class tickets for CHF 88, from Interlaken Ost to Jungfrau.

I’m a tad confused with regards to the seat reservation/priority boarding offering available here (http://www.jungfrau.ch/en-gb/jungfraujoch-top-of-europe/book-priority-boarding/) for CHF 10. While reading through the T&C, it states that the priority boarding is only for second class. I don’t see an option to purchase a seat for first class though.

Do you advise that I purchase this priority boarding pass nevertheless, as I recollect reading another thread where they discuss a certain segment of the journey is combined as a single second class?

    Thank you!

    Hi Anna,

I tried to purchase the tickets online with Happy Rail. However, there is an age restriction to the age 25 to 59 only. One of my friends is 63 years old, does it mean I cannot purchase his ticket with Happy Rail?

    Please kindly advise

    Hi Joyfulsinger,

That is odd. I am not aware of any age restriction for tickets to Jungfraujoch. For the 63 year old, you’d select “Senior (60+)” when adding passengers to your ticket search. I just did and got the same price. If you get a different result you may want to contact Happyrail.

Alternatively, you have the option to buy your tickets from other resellers listed here: http://www.myswissalps.com/jungfraujoch/tickets

Let us know if you need further assistance.

    Regards,

    Anna

    Hi AC424,

The section with priority boarding is 2nd class only, so what you see is correct. There is no 1st class there.

    Hi Joyfulsinger,

No worries, there’s no age restriction. At the HappyRail website, you’ll see a “person’s head” icon in the upper right bar, where you also select travel dates, times and more information. If you click this icon you can select the passenger’s age. As Anna explained, you can choose “Senior (60+)” there. But there won’t be any price difference: in general, there are no senior discounts for most routes in Switzerland (http://www.myswissalps.com/train/ticketspasses/practical/discounts).
