Swiss card or Half Fare Card

Hi! I will be in Switzerland for 5 days in September – flying in and out of Zurich and spending 4 nights in Lauterbrunnen.
We will be doing a lot of hiking in the area and possibly taking a day trip to Bern.We will probably ascend the Schilthorn, though possibly hike part of the way up or down. Is it worthwhile to buy either of these cards, or perhaps something else?
On the way back to the airport we were thinking of stopping in Lucerne for a few hours. Would we be able to use the Swiss Card in this case? It seems from the SBB website that the trip from Interlaken to Zurich is actually cheaper through Lucerne than Bern, though it takes longer.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi aviva,

Welcome to our website! The Swiss Card would be the most obvious choice for you. Your trips to and from Lauterbrunnen should follow the most direct route: either the shortest (cheapest) or the quickest, as suggested by the timetable. The route via Lucerne indeed takes more time but it is cheaper, thus allowed.

Swiss Card details and purchase options are listed here.
