    Hello,

I will be travelling to Switwerland in 2 weeks with a friend. We have each purchased the 4 day Swiss flexi pass and the 3 day VIP Jungfrau pass. We are staying in the following cities and I would love to hear what you best suggest on optiminzing our use of these passes:

Day 1) Arrive in Geneva airport in the afternoon and travel to Montreux for overnight stay.

Day 2) Travel from Montreux to Interlaken via scenic Golden Pass Panarama train. We have reservations.

Days 2-4) Stay in Interlaken. We will visit Jungfrau for sure. Other suggestions for using the 3 day VIP pass?

Day 5) Travel from Interlaken to Lucerne via the Golden Pass Panarama train. We have reservations.

    Day 6) Day in Lucerne

Day 7) Travel from Lucerne to Basel and then take a train to Paris for a 5 night stay there. We have purchased the train tickets to Paris.

Other questions: The flexi pass will be used for day 2 and day 5. We also planned to use it on day 1 and day 7 but would you suggest that perhaps that instead of using it on day 1 we use it on day 6 instead for travel in the Lucerne area? Can you suggst boat rides that we can take using the Swiss flexi pass/VIP pass? Can you suggest how to best use the 3 day Jungfrau VIP pass. Does the Swiss flexi pass give a discount to visit Mt. Pilatus or Mt Titlis?

    Thank you for any information!

Hi potterygirl. If you plan to make long (boat) journeys on day 6 from Lucerne, you’re better off using a free travel day there instead of on day 1. You’d then use free travel days for days 2, 5, 6 and 7. This would mean you’d have to pay the full fare from Geneva to Montreux, but that’s likely to be cheaper than a discounted trip from Lucerne.

As for your further questions: you can best download the Swiss Flexi Pass validity map from this page, and study the Jungfrau VIP Pass validity here. This will help you determine how you can best use both passes. Lots of day trips for the Interlaken region, many of which are covered by the VIP Pass, are listed here.
