    Hi

We are in Spiez late April, 2024 for 4 nights arriving into Switzerland at Zurich airport and leaving on day 5 for Fussen, Germany.  Should we just buy day saver to get to Spiez and ticket from Spiez to Fussen and a 3-day Swiss pass for “middle days” ?

Want to see Matterhorn but understand weather may not permit.

    Suggestions please

    Hi Mandy,

    Welcome to MySwissAlps.

Thanks great to hear you will be traveling to Spiez next month.

Yes, a Saver Day Pass could be a good choice for the Swiss sections, if available for your dates of travel. For your trip to Füssen, you’ll need to purchase a ticket for the German sector, from the Swiss border to Füssen.  The Saver Day Pass is only valid in Switzerland.  Details on travel to/from Germany in the link below, there some ticket purchase options too:

Details on Saver Day Passes in the link below, similarly you’ll find some online purchase options too:

Another option on your 5th day, if your plans are fixed, you could look into a Supersaver ticket for the Swiss section.  These are time and date specific so if you miss the departure, you would need a new ticket.  They can be quite reasonably priced.  Further details here:

Best you carry out some maths, it could be that it may be worth buying the Swiss Travel Pass for another day.  For example a 4 day Swiss Travel Pass costs CHF295 and a 3 day one, costs CHF244.  If the Saver Day Pass is more than the difference, I’d opt with the extra day for the Swiss Travel Pass.  Our handy guide to the Swiss Travel Pass attached:

Yes, for a visit to the Matterhorn, best you have favourable weather.  Do check the weather forecast (https://www.myswissalps.com/planning/practical/weather/forecast/) a day or two ahead, then you can plan accordingly.  All details for a visit to the Matterhorn is explained here:

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards,

    Yolanda
