Can a pass holder travel alone before the other holder joins in?

    Thank you!

Yes, that’s possible, as long as the pass has been validated before you do so. It depends on who you buy from whether you can validate the pass yourself or need to visit railway personnel at a station to get a stamp. In the first case, your scenario would work. Please let me know your country of residence to provide further guidance. Or, check the Swiss Pass page or Swiss Flexi Pass page, fill out your country and pass type, and look for a reseller with the “Quick transfer” option. That means “self validation” as you don’t need to spend time at the first rail station to validate your pass; you can just board your first train immediately.
