Hi, I am planning a 6 day trip with my family – one youth and one child under 16 and have read some information about Swiss rail pass. We will go Zurich – Lucerne (1 day) – Interlaken (2 days) – Bern (1 day) – Zurich. As there is Zurich card for getting around in Zurich, a 5-day pass will be good for travel to other regions back to Zurich, but there is only a 4-day and 8-day option available. Are there other alternatives? Thank you in advance!

    Hi Sansliu,

There are only 4 and 8 day options for the Swiss Travel Pass. You may be best off taking the 8 day Swiss Travel Pass and not worrying about the ZurichCard. Have a look at what is covered by the Swiss Travel Pass here– you also get free entrance to many museums as well in many cities.

An alternative is the Swiss Half Fare Card for use outside of Zurich (if you buy the ZurichCard). Once bought you still must buy tickets to Bern, Luzern etc but they are 50% off.

    Regards,
    Lucas
